When I Should Be Studying

If you have been following my blog for the past year, then you will know that I made a resolution to read and review a book for every month of 2018. When it came to organizing my book lists and my progress while reading, I had to create a few different bullet journal spreads for everything to do with books. In this blog post I will share with you the bullet journal spreads that I think every book lover should use. My Reasons For Reading This Book My mom read this book a few months ago and just raved about how imaginative and creative this book was and said that I had to read The Bees by Laline Paull .  Content of This Book This book follows the life of Flora 717 a sanitation worker, the lowest of the low in the ranking of the hive. It quickly becomes apparent that she is not like the other bees. As the book progresses trouble surrounding the survival of the hive. Flora begins entertaining her curiosity which starts to get her into trouble. But her qualities of strength and courage lead her to be able to help the hive in ways that a sanitation normally would not be able to do. Flora breaks the most scared law- questioning the Queen Bee's fertility. My Reasons For Reading This Book As I explained in my last book review, August Book Review: Sharp Objects ( August Book Review: Sharp Objects ), I loved Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl ( March Book Review: Gone Girl  )and had heard in a podcast that Gillian Flynn wrote two books before Gone Girl. Since I loved Gone Girl I thought that I why not read the two books she wrote prior to it. That is why I chose to read Gillian Flynn's second novel  Dark Places . Content of the Book This book did not disappoint when it comes to the similarities that are found in Gillian Flynn's other books. May Book Review: Wonder My Reasons For Reading This Book After reading Columbine last month, I was looking for a more lighthearted and fun read. I also wanted to read Wonder by R.J. Palacio before I watched the movie since the movie is based off of the book. I had seen the trailer for the movie and found the story to be very interesting and knew that the book had to one of the books I read this year. Wonder is a lot more lighthearted compared to the books I have been reading the past few months. I felt as though I chose to read this book at just the right time in my life. April Book Review: Columbine My Reasons For Reading This Book As someone who was only a few months old when the tragedy of Columbine occurred, I did not have much knowledge on a historic event that greatly effected the United States. After the Parkland School shooting on February, 14 2018, I become interested in reading peoples opinions and research on school shooters. I came across Columbine by Dave Cullen and thought that it would be a good read that fit all the topics I was currently interested in.  Content of the Book  This book breaks down the myths that surround the Columbine massacre that took place on April 20, 1999. March Book Review: Gone Girl I am well aware of the fact that I am about four years late on reading this book. In my defense when this book was released I was too young to read it. I feel as if this was the right time and age for me to read this book.
