When I Should Be Studying

Reasons For  Reading  This Book As I mentioned in my review of the first book in this trilogy series, I am a massive fan of the Broadway musical Hamilton. I not only have the entire soundtrack memorized, but I have also had the  opportunity  to attend the show in October of 2018. The reason why I am reading Love & War  and all three books one after the other is because I will be attending the show once again in  September  of 2019 and wanted to not only finish the series before I went, but also wanted to celebrate my  excitement  by thinking of it everyday while I read. Why I chose to read these  specific   Hamilton  novels is  because  I have always wanted to  learn  more about Eliza  Schuyler. Reasons For Reading This Book As I continue to mention each month, I struggle to find books that I want to read that are at my university's library. After picking up a book that I still don't know if I will finish or not, my roommate/best friend said to me 'I need you to read this book because I need someone to talk about it with'. She had just finished reading The Husband Hour by Jamie Brenner and as I said needed someone to talk about it with to decide how she felt about certain things. I jumped at the opportunity to read a book that I could talk to someone about because that is something I rarely get to do. In conclusion I read this book because I had nothing else to read and because I wanted to have a book to talk to someone about. Yet again I struggled to find a book from my 'to read' list at the library. This has seemed to become a constant problem for me. As I do when I can't find a book that is on my reading list, I just go to the library and read the titles and description of any books that interest me from the new section or the pop fiction section. Since the library I go to is my university library there is also a section called the Curriculum Section that has books like Eleanor & Park and the Harry Potter series. This last time I went to the library I checked both sections and still didn't find anything that peaked my interest. Reasons For Reading This Book I keep having bad luck with my library not having the books I want to read. So, what ends of happening is I go over to the library and read the cover description of books in the Pop Fiction section until I find something I like or until I give up and just pick something. That is how this book was picked. It was not recommended to me and I had never heard of it before checking it out. This month I decided to read Into the Water by Paula Hawkins because I knew of the author due to her widely famous book The Girl on the Train  only due to its being on the front cover and because in the moment at the library the description interested me and made me want to read it. Reasons For Reading This Book After reading Eleanor and Park last month, I wanted to read another book by Rainbow Rowell. Ever since my mom read Fangirl she has been telling me how much it parallels my twin sister and I's lives. In the past I have read books with twins and absolutely loved them, as I can relate to their feelings of being a twin. Unlike Cath and Wren from Fangirl, my twin and I are fraternal twins and barely look like sisters let alone twins. The fact that this book is so similar to my life made me have to read it just to see if what everyone has been telling me was true. Let me tell you, this book is freaky similar to my current life. My Reasons For Reading This Book My mom has always talked about Eleanor & Park and how much she thought I would enjoy reading it. After many years of her telling me to read it I finally decided it was time. As I mentioned with my last book review, I have been in need of somewhat light reads. I am a busy bee in school and don't really have the time or energy to read a thought provoking and intense book. Content of the Book Eleanor and Park are two high school students who are not necessarily seen as "cool" and are the outcasts of their grade. My Reasons For Reading This Book For starters both my mom and my roommate had read Turtles All the Way Down by John Green . I trust both of their opinions when it comes to book recommendations, which is one reason I chose to read this book. The only other John Green book the I have "read" is The Fault in Our Stars , which I actually listened to the audiobook. I really enjoyed that book and don't really know why I have never read any of his other books.
