Reasons for Reading This Book I read The Midnight Library by Matt Haig for two reasons. The first is that I am a member of  The ReadHeads  podcast book club and it was the book of the month for November 2021. The second reason is that in between reading books for the book club I am also working my way through my best friends book list. This book just happened to also be on her list. Reasons For Reading This Book I read this book as I am apart of the podcast book club  The ReadHeads . The Kitchen Front by Jennifer Ryan was the book of the month for November 2021. I knew very little about the book going into it other than it was set during the war. I am usually not a fan of books from this genre, but was open to the idea of liking it as it was centered around cooking and a contest compared to battles and violence. I went into this book with an open mind.  Content of the Book The Kitchen Front by Jennifer Ryan follows the lives of four contestants in a cooking competition. The purpose of the competition is to use food war rations to show how creative one can be with making delicious and nutritious food. It's two years into the war and there is no sight of it ending so there is still a need for how to be creative with food rations. Reason for reading this book In June as I was only working on the weekends and was taking care of the dog and the house during the weekdays. I found myself having lots of time to read. I was reading up to an hour and a half a day which is an increase from my average 30 minutes a day. With this increased amount of reading each day I was flying through books. This meant that I was having to find books to read on my own as the book club I am a member of only reads one book a month and I was finishing a book about every 8 days or so. Reason for Reading This Book My main reason for reading this book is that I am a ReadHead, a member of  The ReadHeads  podcast book club and the book of the month for August was We Are the Brennans by Tracey Lange . I was excited to read this book because the host who chose the book is a young-adult genre fan. I have also liked most of the books chosen by this host. I had no expectations going into this book. I read a majority of the book on my travels from California to Texas, and finished it in my destination of D.C. I read this book during 10 days of intensive work training and it was the perfect light read to pull me away from reality each day. Reasons for reading this book The simple answer to why I read this book is that my best friend and I trade books all the time. She read this book and thought I would like it so she lent me her copy. Prior to her giving me the book I had heard the title but did not know anything about the story. So shout out to my best friend for recommending this book and letting me read her copy. I started reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid with no expectations and no knowledge of what the story was about. I tend it just start the book without reading the back.   Reason for reading this book My main reason for reading this book is that I am a ReadHead which is a member of  The ReadHeads  podcast bookclub. Not only is Claudia Oshry, the author of this book, the sister of two of the hosts of the podcast, she also runs the network that produces the podcast, and she was a guest on the podcast. I knew the club would read and review the book so I had to read it of course. The crazy thing about how I became a ReadHead is that my best friend is a Toaster, follower of The Morning Toast Podcast  where Claudia is a host, and she is the one who introduced me to The ReadHeads. She bought and read the book and then was gracious enough to loan it to me to read. Reasoning for reading this book I was first introduced to Holly Madison when she did an interview with Alexander Cooper on the Call Her Daddy Podcast . After listening to Holly's episode I was totally transfixed by her story and had to learn more. While I was reading  Down the Habit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny by Holly Madison by sister was watching The Girls Next Door. We loved comparing notes of how things were written in the book and how they were shown on TV. So simply I read this book out of curiosity for Holly's story. After finding her Call Her Daddy episode so entertaining I knew I would also find her book just as entertaining. I don't often mention the timing of when I read a book, but for this particular book I chose the perfect time because I read this during finals and the week of my college graduation.
