National Ice Cream Day Weekly Bullet Journal Spreads

Sunday, July 21 2019 is National Ice Cream Day. What better way to celebrate this summer national day than with a ice cream themed weekly spread. In this blog post I show a variety of weekly spread layouts. I show a few different vertical layouts and horizontal layouts.

I plan digitally, using an iPad and the application GoodNotes and Bargain Depot Stylus 2 Pack from Amazon. Currently I am still using GoodNotes 4. If you are curious to why I plan digitally you should check out my blog post Switching to a Digital Planner-Paperless Planning.

My weekly layouts include a food log for each day. If you do not track your food feel free to change this tracker into a daily to do list, habit tracker, appointment scheduler or really anything that you need it to be.

Mint Chip Vertical

This spread has a mint chip ice cream cone theme. Even though I chose mint chip ice cream you could choose an ice cream flavor that matches the color theme that you are already using for the month of July or if your planner style does not involve color than you could easily make this spread black and white. I made the daily boxes 3D by using a diagonal pattern to bring in the old fashion ice cream parlor feel.

Milkshake Vertical

For this second vertical spread the design elements are traditional looking chocolate milkshakes. To bring in some color to this spread and to brighten it up I used two bright red cherries for the day of the week. Instead of using the cherries you could make the date box look like the white plastic number cards that you put on your table after ordering. With any of this spreads that the designs and colors and fonts can be adjusted to fit any planner style or monthly theme.

Colorful Ice Cream Vertical

This weekly spread is the spread that I used to celebrate National Ice Cream Day 2018. As you can tell my planner style has evolved since making this spread. I still wanted to share it because it gives those who are new to bullet journaling an idea for a simple spread. This is also a look at what my weekly spreads look like when they are filled out.

Ice Cream Bowl Horizontal

For this horizontal spread I decided to use a bowl of ice cream instead of the traditional ice cream cone. As I always do with my weekly spreads I include a daily food log, but when it comes to his layout I have found that it doesn't allow for the most space to write in each daily box. If I were to use this spread I would make the notes box smaller to allow for more space for each day. I used a light grey as an outline so that the main focus would be on the ice cream drawling and those colors.

All Types of Ice Cream Horizontal

To incorporate all types of planner styles into this blog post I wanted to share a black and white spread. For each daily box there is a drawing of a different type of ice cream. The first page of this spread includes an additional box for a tracker, to do list, or appointment scheduler. There is also a notes section.

I also took this spread and added grey outlines as an idea for subtle color.

Another idea for this spread is to make the box outlines different colors of ice cream flavors. For tis example I used brown for chocolate ice cream, cream for vanilla, pink for strawberry and light green for mint chip. If you wanted to add even more color to this spread you could also color each of the ice cream drawings.

Stranger Things 3 Scoops Ahoy Horizontal

If you follow my Instagram then you will know that I am a Stranger Things fan and have already one weekly spread dedicated to the new season. So of course I had to find a way to incorporate it into this blog post. I took the same layout from the previous spread and made each of the daily boxes to look like the lights around the Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor sign. Instead of having a notes section I made it into the sign that hangs in the mall. I also brought in more of the navy blue from the sign by using it to highlight the corners of the daily food logs.

Reasonable Dorm Room Cleaning Schedule

Reasonable Dorm Room Cleaning Schedule After my first semester of college I have developed a cleaning routine that I have been able to keep up with. You can read my previous blog post about What I Learned In My First Semester of College . Over the past few months I have experimented and I am confident in the routine that I have created.  Personalize When it comes to personalizing the schedule you could add or take out the different chores. For example I also wash my retainers weekly and monthly my roommate and I decorate the marker board on the outside of our door. We also only clean our mirrors when needed since we have found that they do not seem to become too dirty regularly. Something that I would make sure you sanitize every week would be the surfaces that you are constantly touching. That means light switches, door handles, and your desk. By doing this I managed to avoid getting sick when my roommate and other floor mates go sick. Another task that you could add to y

Bullet Journal Fitness and Workout Spread Ideas

If you want to purchase some of these spreads you can buy the digital bundle from my Etsy shop: Simply Paperless .  I had created six different bullet journal fitness and workout trackers/spreads. These spreads were made in my digital bullet journal using the GoodNotes App.   I highly recommend to use a stylus when using GoodNotes as a digital bullet journal. For this project I used the Adonit Dash 3 Stylus , which I highly recommend. I also recommend the Bargain Depot Stylus 2 Pack  from Amazon. Daily Workout Plan This first spread can be used to plan out what exercises you plan to workout each day of the week. I would recommend this spread for those who are just starting to workout. I did not created the workout that is used as the example for the content of this spread. The workout is from Pintrest Workout Plan .  Workout Tracker This next tracker is in the format of a monthly calendar. In order to track the different workouts accomplished throughout

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus Book Review

Reasons For Reading This Book: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus was Jackie's choice for the month of October. Jackie is the host of The Readheads Podcast Book Club. This is a monthly podcast book club that I have been apart of since it was established in 2020. I love getting to hear the thoughts of the hosts each month.  Content of the Book: Elizabeth Zott is a chemist but is much more than meets the eye. She is not only beautiful but also extremely smart, confident, strong, and not afraid to beat to her own drum. Elizabeth is one of the only female chemists working at Hastings Research Institute. She is viewed as different by everyone there. It's there that she meet Nobel-Prize nominated chemist Calvin Evans. Calvin who falls in love with Elizabeth is described as a loner, grudge holder, and extremely brilliant. Fast forward a few years and Elizabeth is now a single-mother working as the host of the most watched cooking show, Supper at Six . With Elizabeth's ways of
