Its that time of the semester again, finals!! As an environmental studies major, I personally find it really important to reduce the amount of paper that I use. I not only due this as a student, but also in my daily life. Check out this blog post Tips For Slowly Going Paperless. In this blog post I will share some of my favorite ways to study and use GoodNotes for school. I will also include picture examples of how you can do the same. I hope you find this blog post helpful when it comes to being a paperless student. Happy studying!!
Study Plan
The most beneficial student related spread that I recommend is a study plan. I not only find this spread to be extremely helpful, but I have proved it to myself that keeping up with this spread improves my test scores. I actually have a whole blog post dedicated to creating a personalized study plan, so click here to see that blog post.
Essay and Research Paper Outlines
Whenever I am given an research paper or essay where I chose the topic, I find it easiest to start by writing down everything that I want to talk about and research. When working on outlines I also continuously reference any rubric, guidelines or resources provided to me by my professor. As you can see here my professor had specific points that needed to be discussed and that is how I divided up the outline.
Study Guide
A study tool that I just recently started using GoodNotes for was creating study guides. This is something that I never really did in the past unless it was filling out a study guide provided for me by my professors. But since using GoodNotes to make study guides I have continuously improving my test scores. How I create my study guides is by references the lecture PowerPoints, my lecture notes and any study guide or main messages the professor has said will be on the test. I use a color coding system when doing this. I write definitions, examples and main messages in my study guides.
Practice Tests
The next way I use GoodNotes to study for exams is by downloading any practice tests provided to me by my professor. I take the practice test and then check my answers using the key. Specifically for my Chemistry class we go over the practice exam in our recitation, so I then write any additional notes, memorizing techniques, or examples given by my recitation TA.
